Step 2-Creating Classes for Reporting Purposes

After students have completed the CAT assessment, teachers should set up classes or groups of students. This will make reporting and assigning strand tests easier. Once a new class is created, it can be deleted or edited.

  1. To create a new class, locate your school’s folder on the left sidebar and click Assignments.
  2. Click on the link labeled 2007-2008 Virginia Algebra Readiness Diagnostic Test.
  3. Click on the New Class link on the right side of the window.
  4. Under Class Information, enter the Description and if desired, a period.
  5. Select the appropriate Teacher and/or Staff.
  6. Click the Save link.
  7. The Class Detail screen will appear allowing you to select “Add Students.”
  8.  At the student search, under Browse Students, searching by grade level may be the easiest way to select the students you want to add to each class.
  9. Select the desired students for your class and then click the “Add Students” link. Students can be added to classes AFTER completing the CAT assessment.
