Spanning The Globe – A Google Earth Project.

6th Grade students in Ms. Cannon’s Social Studies classes utilized Google Earth to create a virtual tour of the Continents, Oceans and the US Regions, and Waterways for SOL USI.2a, b, and c. Click on the link below to download and example of the  their adventure.

Google Earth and the Native Americans

Students had to use their 3-D mapping and global skills in order to pinpoint certain locations within North America where each of the 5 Native American Tribes described in the Virginia SOL resided.  They needed to also include a picture and description of each climate and a couple interesting facts about each tribe.
