I, personally,would not like not being included because u would not have the same rights as men. Like they are better than women when women can and are doing the same jobs as men. Sometimes better than men so I would be mad if we (women) would not get the same rights. That’s MY opinion!!!!

I was a Prince Edward County student during massive resistance. I couldn’t attend school because Prince Edward County closed all the schools down because they didn’t want to integrate. They sent me a letter asking if I wanted to continue my education in north Carolina, but I replied a simple ,”No” in return. I was only in the ninth grade and I didn’t feel ready to travel alone yet. Now I realize, I should have gone because later in life, I couldn’t find a job. Last year, in 2003, the General Assembly wrote me a letter apologizing to me for what they did! i replied,” Thanks a lot . like that’s going to make a difference now!” So, because of them, I lost five years of education! Words can’t even describe how I feel but, what’s done is done and i can’t undo it. I wish they would have did that earlier. This is how I feel.

MY family and I are angry because I can’t go to school all because of the Massive Resistance. My family did not want me to not have education so they sent me to Atlanta,Georgia where my cousin lives.

If I was at Prince Edward county during Massive Resistance I would not like it because the money parents give to people will be cut off from all the state fundings.Our parents would be mad because they don’t get the money back.A reason why I would like it because it is new and they keep almost 400 students out of school for 2 weeks.

I would not take the apology because there’s no replacing 5 years of my education.Until i’m 20 years old i’ll be without a job and poor. I wouldn’t take an apology from a white person because all the pain they caused black people in the early 1900′s.I would be mad because I wouldn’t want to spend 5 years of my life being dumb and miserable.
