VASS Grant supports AP courses, students, teachers
Posted on April 19, 2011 | No CommentsSix high schools in Henrico are benefiting from a grant awarded by Virginia Advanced Study Strategies (VASS), a nonprofit state organization created by a partnership between Virginia and the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI). The grant’s purpose is to encourage high school students throughout Virginia to prepare for careers in math and science by enrolling in Advanced Placement classes. The participating schools are Deep Run, Glen Allen, Hermitage, Highland Springs, Tucker and Varina High Schools. The program is in its third year at some schools and first at others. -
