Considerations for Preparing Your Proposal

1) The theme of this event is: Catch the Excitement! Share the Innovations!

We encourage you to incorporate the theme creatively into your presentation title and description.

2) Breakout sessions will be 50-60 minutes. Presenters will be compensated.

3) We are looking for sessions that fit one or more of the following application areas:

Teaching strategies that impact student achievement as readers, writers and thinkers
Innovative approaches to teaching literacy skills to diverse learners
Reading across the content areas
Interdisciplinary projects focusing on reading, writing, and thinking
Structuring the 21^st century literacy classroom

4) Preference will be given to sessions that are highly interactive and engaging, with presenters modeling strategies and attendees taking the role of students. We encourage “make and take” approaches. Proposals will also be selected to reflect a cross-section of grade levels and variety of learner needs. Presenters will be notified by April 1.
