HCPS Response To Intervention

Tier 3 Teacher
•If student is not progressing, based on graphing data, teacher should request meeting with child study team for referral to evaluate to consider special education eligibility.
•Provide intensive and individualized instruction to student based on plan developed with team
•Collect student progress data at least biweekly

DECISION POINT
•Students who are making progress, move back to Tier 2 and continue to be monitored
•Unsuccessful students may be evaluated to determine possible eligibility for exceptional education

Tier 3 Administrator
•Require documentation of fidelity and implementation
•Ensure use of research-based/evidenced-based practices
•Support teachers while they implement intensive strategies for 12 weeks
•Require evidence of frequent data collection at this tier
