Also, in light of Henrico’s new policy on tuition reimbursement, I
have included starting and ending dates for both the fall and spring
semester.  HOWEVER, the course still has a cap on enrollment of 15, so
even if someone intends to take the course and HCPS approves $500
toward the  tuition, each individual must still sign up online with UR.

Additionally, I teach a second section in Chesterfield Co. at their
Technical Center on Wednesdays, again in the fall and spring.  The
Tech center is easy to get to off Route 288.  Online UR sign-up
procedures are the same for that class.

Individuals can sign up as early as mid-July for the fall semester;
the spring semester is usually available for sign-up in December.

Bridge to Course 1 – Rising 6^th graders identified by their 5^th grade math teacher as needing extra instructional support to be successful in Course 1 for the 2010 – 2011 school year.

Bridge to Course 2/Course B – Rising 6^th and 7^th graders identified by their current teacher as needing extra instructional support to be successful in Course 2 or Course B for the 2010 – 2011 school year.

Bridge to Algebra 1 – Rising 7^th and 8^th graders identified by their current teacher as needing extra instructional support to be successful in Algebra 1 for the 2010 – 2011 school year. Note: High Schools will be offering an Algebra 1 Jump Start program for rising 9^th graders at the summer academy sites (Freeman, Hermitage, and Highland Springs).

Additional Programs

Study Skills – The Study Skills program is designed to prepare rising 6^th graders for the rigor of middle school.  School counselors can be hired to teach the student skills portion.

Extreme - Extreme is for rising 6^th, 7^th and 8^th graders and is designed to get students excited about learning!  A class grouping of students can be multi-leveled, because Extreme will meet the students at their point of need.  Students will rotate from the online digital math content to three other activities.  Extreme consists of Apangea Math, Art, Physical Education, and Pre-Engineering.  Apangea is a self-paced math program that will meet students at their point of learning. The specialists are aware of these activities and will provide appropriate lessons to coordinate with math content.  You will need to design a schedule that will allow students to rotate through these activities.  Students should not sign up for both summer sessions, as the activities will duplicate from one session to the next.
