Before

1. Confirm with Specialist that building use paperwork has been completed and air conditioning will be available.

2. Email the class a reminder a day or two before the class

  • When, where, what to bring

3. Print Class roll (optional)

4. Print Sign in sheet – this is the only thing that will be accepted for attendance

  • one for each day the class meets
  • must include time in and time out
  • Teachers should sign out when leave, not when they come in
  • no notebook paper sign in sheets will be accepted

5. Arrange for all the materials you will need ahead of time (copies, projector, extension cords, power strips). Schools are not expected to provide these services.

8. Attendance in ERO – Mark attendance AFTER last session occurrence

  • Adjustments for teachers that leave early or come late
  • 11- and 12- month employees earn credits not hours if under contract.
  • Hour for lunch – longer or shorter (change hours and credits in ERO to reflect)  No working lunch

9. Email participants a reminder to complete evaluation after attendance has been completed. Please use the following language in your memo:

I have marked attendance for [FILL IN] class in ERO and sent the sign-in sheets to Staff Development. After Staff Development has processed the paperwork, you will be able to log in to ERO and complete an evaluation for this course. If this institute was offered for pay, check the Staff Development Institute website for information on which classes have been paid on a monthly basis.   • Evaluation is linked to points, not pay.
  • Evaluation must be complete for course to show up on participant ERO transcript.

10. Submit original sign in sheets to Staff Development with instructor signature and date.

  • Pay is determined by these sign-in sheets- please check for accuracy between ERO and the printed sign-in sheet
  • Paperwork that is received by the 10th of the month will be processed for current pay period. (No payroll in December)

11. Respond to questions about pay:

  • First look at the website for information about your class: http://staffdev.henrico.k12.va.us/si/index.html
  • Anything turned in by instructors after the 10th of the month, will not be processed until the following month.
  • Contact the instructor to see if the paperwork has been turned in.
