Ideal column: We should include additional electronic resources such as Podcasts, Video Conferencing, Digital Storytelling, ProbeWare, Google Earth, Discovery Education, SAT Online, etc.

Using the NETs – suggestions for Ideal column:

Add – “Teacher facilitates student Creativity and Innovation”

Teacher facilitates student Collaboration – Add – “and Communication”

Add – “Teacher models and facilitates the effective use of digital tools to locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources”

Add – ” Teacher customizes student learning activities using digital-age tools and resources”

Add – “Teacher advocates, models, and teaches safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology”

Add – “Teacher demonstrates and models for students a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.

Add – “Teacher exhibits leadership by helping colleagues use digital tools and resources”

Use of Electronic Resources for Instruction

In all of the categories, we can include information from NETs regarding teachers facilitating and inspiring student learning and creativity; modeling digital-age work, learning and innovation; creativity and innovation; communication and collaboration and research and information fluency.

Below, I have a few suggestions for consideration.

    Entry:
•Uses fewer printed resources and more electronic resources.
    Developing:
    • Teacher creates lesson plans, rubrics, and activity sheets, with the aid of electronic resources.
•Teacher uses software resources such as Exam View to create quizzes/tests, study guides.
•Teacher uses webpage or HCPSLink to post homework and communicate.
    Approaching:
•Teacher uses visual technologies to enliven content.
•Teacher incorporates problem based and project based learning and creates lessons based on these approaches to learning.
•Teacher uses appropriate and effective electronic resources to deliver instruction.
    Ideal/Target
•Teacher utilizes online resources such as SchoolSpace, Teacher Tube, etc. for delivering content to students.
